生活故事
1997

Ladies and gentlemen, family, and friends,

We gather here today to celebrate the life of Emmanuel Lekishon, born on December 17, 1997. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, mentor, and friend. Emmanuel’s journey began in the loving arms of his parents, Daniel Teriki and Noonkipa Teriki, who instilled in him the values of kindness, determination, and resilience that guided him throughout his life.

As a brother to Sammy Saroi, Margret Seenoi Teriki, Leteipa Tobiko, and Mercy Simaloi, Emmanuel embodied the essence of family. He shared countless memories, provided unwavering support, and forged bonds that will forever resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Emmanuel was a devoted husband to Judy Leina Titoo. Together, they built a life rooted in love and commitment, welcoming two beautiful children into the world—Marley Memusi, a bright and energetic four-year-old, and Ivan Liomom, a six-month-old bundle of joy. Emmanuel’s love for his family knew no bounds, and his greatest joy was in seeing their happiness and growth.

His educational journey began at Oloonkolin Primary School, where he demonstrated a passion for learning and a drive for excellence. He then continued his studies at Nakeel Boys High School, eventually pursuing higher education at Maasai Mara University, where he nurtured his dreams and talents.

Professionally, Emmanuel was a trailblazer and changemaker. His remarkable tenure at organizations like the United Nations, AMREF, and UNFPA showcased his unwavering commitment to service and social change. He was a visionary leader, serving as Chairman of the UNFPA Youth Advisory Panel and representing Narok County youth and adolescents. Emmanuel advocated for meaningful youth participation in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) issues, elimination of harmful practices, and youth inclusion in decision-making processes.

As a community pioneer, Emmanuel co-founder the Narok Youth Parliament, championing the creation of the Narok Youth Engagement Strategy, which contributed to the development of the Narok County Youth Policy. He was the brain behind Mara Reto Farmers Cooperative, where he empowered farmers to adopt successful dairy farming methods, and Olosida Farm, where his innovative ideas transformed pastoral farming.

At Olosida, Emmanuel's solar-driven irrigation pivot gained national and international recognition, being showcased at the 13th International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. His circular farming model earned accolades from organizations like the Mastercard Foundation, WIDU Kenya, Jasiri Africa, and the Tony Elumelu Foundation. Emmanuel’s ambition was to inspire Maasai pastoralists to embrace resilient farming methods, sustainable pasture production, and livestock breed improvement.

Beyond his professional achievements, Emmanuel was a beacon of hope and inspiration in his community. As a member of Youth Anti-FGM Kenya (YANK), he tirelessly worked to eliminate harmful traditional practices, champion gender equality, and promote SRHR initiatives.

Tragically, Emmanuel’s journey was cut short on February 5, 2025, while receiving treatment at Liten Hospital after a brief illness. Though his life was brief, his impact was profound and far-reaching. Emmanuel’s unwavering dedication, infectious smile, and compassionate spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we bid farewell, let us remember Emmanuel for the immense love he shared, the dreams he pursued, and the lives he touched. His legacy of kindness, innovation, and resilience will live on in our hearts and in the many lives he transformed.

Emmanuel Lekishon, you will be dearly missed but forever cherished. Rest in peace, our brother, our leader, and our friend.
